<h2>The History and the Spectacular in the Underground World of the Western Wall Tunnels</h2>The entrance to the tunnels is on the northern side of the Western Wall plaza, a few meters away from the Western Wall. Upon entering, visitors walk through a series of rooms moving eastward until they reach the Western Wall. The rooms encountered along the passageway are the remains of a Medieval church, a bridge, luxury rooms from the Second Temple era, residential homes, ancient cisterns, a quarry, a Hasmonean-era aqueduct, &nbsp;and many more archeological discoveries.&nbsp;Visitors can participate in a fascinating tour that takes you through the tiers of the Western Wall that reveal their secrets in the thick depths of the earth and tell the story of ancient Jerusalem. The impressive Tunnels tour begins at the Western Wall plaza and is approximately 75 minutes long. Tours take place in English, too. The Western Wall Tunnels run along the 485-meter length of the Wall and offer a glimpse of the incredible engineering challenges faced by Herod the Great as he embarked on his undertaking to expand the Temple Mount.&nbsp;The Tunnels are, in fact, an underground system that constitutes a continuous chain of history, from the Hasmoneans until today. They were created through a large number of arches, which were built side by side and supported by staircases connecting the city with the Temple Mount. In ancient times, the Tyropoeon Valley ran along the western side of the Temple Mount, separating the Herodian Quarter and the Temple. The need for a bridge above the valley led to the building of the arches. Today, these passageways support the streets, and the tunnels pass directly beneath the Muslim Quarter.&nbsp;The tunnels were first discovered during a dig by British archeologists in the nineteenth century, however, the actual excavations took place after the Six-Day War under the auspices of the Israeli Ministry of Religion. Since the tunnels run along the Western side of the Temple Mount, the site of the Holy of Holies, they reach a point very close to the location of the drinking stone. There is a small synagogue at the site where religious Jews pray and read the Psalms.

This is the place of Jesus' crucifixion, burial, and resurrection. In it, liturgical activity takes place, mainly during Easter. For example, on Holy Thursday, the washing of the feet by the Orthodox Patriarch takes place in the courtyard in memory of the washing of the disciples' feet by Jesus during the Last Supper. The visit to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher is the trip's highlight for many tourists visiting Israel and Jerusalem.&nbsp;<h2>About the history of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre&nbsp;</h2>The front of the church was designed during the Crusader period. These stones were knocked from the walls of Temple Mount and have been lying there ever since.Another impressive discovery is a drainage channel which was found under the street, containing rare finds from the days of the destruction of Jerusalem. This channel used to be the place where ancient warriors escaped to, hoping to find shelter from the Romans. While you're there, explore the Southern Wall where you'll find an ancient staircase leading to Temple Mount. This is how the pilgrim entered the Temple.In addition, the Davidson Center houses a museum with all of the site's most significant finds that were discovered during excavation work in the area. During the activity participants will use buckets to load their “weapons”. The guides will give you a variety of different competitive games for two teams, or versions of "all against all", including personal goals.</li>
 	<li>Jelly Ball: experience a new fun game that combines group warfare games (personal security, prisoner rescue, etc.) with colorful guns that fire gel balls, that are designed not to leave traces or stains. Each participant will receive protective equipment, a rifle or pistol to choose from, and more than 300 bullets per game! Together we will go to the field, devise a strategy and win. During the years Jerusalem was divided (1948-1967), the house was turned into an Israeli military outpost situated on the border between Israel and Jordan, and was the only passage between the two parts of the divided city. During the battles of the 1967 war, the house suffered hits from shells and bullets that are apparent to this day.&nbsp;Washington University's website stated: "This is one of the best museums in the world. The museum offers a multi-sensory experience consisting of advanced screens, 3D technologies, and original soundtracks not found elsewhere.&nbsp;<h2>Explore the Museum</h2>The tour of the museum begins with a “selfie” photo. Then, in the museum spaces, you can see the birth of the Biblical promise, between God and Abraham. The covenant began when God called Abraham, and he responded immediately, "Here I am." The motif of Abraham’s response will follow through your museum tour. In the progression of history, you can see how the promise affected brave individuals who chose to stand by the Jewish people and stand up to the divine call. In the "Visionary" space with 36 touch screens, you can awaken 12 visionaries who worked overseas to fulfill the promise. You will experience their story in a mixed and interactive way. Among the visionaries, you will find Lord Balfour, who established a national home for Jews in the Land of Israel. The museum ends with a screening of a 3D movie in which you ask yourself how everything you experienced on the day of the visit will continue to ring true in your personal life. The terra Sancta Museum tells the story from the Herodian period to the pilgrims of today, tracing the development of the Via Dolorosa and transformation of the city around it through the centuries. &nbsp;The experience consists of 3 parts:<ul><li>A presentation of&nbsp;archaeological sites and relics from the Roman era of Jerusalem</li><li>The history of Jerusalem's development from Roman times through it's modern urban development shown on a time lapse map</li><li>The history of the Way of the Cross told through video and sound based on accounts of pilgrims who have visited Jerusalem throughout history</li></ul>&nbsp;<h3 style="text-align:justify;">Details</h3>Via Dolorosa&nbsp;is part of the the Terra Sancta Museum in the Church of the Flagellation on Via Dolorosa Street in the Old City of Jerusalem.The installation is offered&nbsp;in&nbsp;8 languages&nbsp;(English, Italian, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, Hebrew).Booking is possible but not mandatory.
